How Does Focusing On #Love Help You Tackle Your #Goals ?

What would it feel like if you loved how you spent your day?

Imagine if you spent every waking moment using your natural skills to create exciting results. How happy would you and your clients be at the end of the week?

Also, think about the joy you would have if your non-work time was spent with people who were supportive, optimistic and focused on the goal of exchanging their experience with others to improve products and processes.

Like doesn’t have to be a grind.

But Life Is Hard Work!

For some people, especially those taking action to achieve their goals, life is enjoyable. They are not stuck accepting an situation they don’t love. They are thinking and acting differently and achieving different and better results.

Why?

Because they want to love what they do.

So I Can Just Decide To Love What I Do?

Yes. Maybe your occupation isn’t where you find satisfaction. Love might be linked to your family life, or volunteering. Having something uplifting makes life much more enjoyable.

These and similar themes are central to Napoleon Hill’s ‘Think And Grow Rich’, life and leadership guide which was published 80 years ago this year.

To paraphrase from Hill’s 1937 publication:

We have become what we are because of our dominating thoughts and desires.

So if we keep thinking of ourselves as stuck in a rut, isolated and powerless we reduce our chances of moving forward, connecting to a support system and loving our situation.

What’s Your Next Step?

So, I’m putting this post out to encourage people feeling stuck in a rut. Invest some time in writing down what your ideal situation will be in 12 month’s time. Commit to taking action each week to move toward your goal. Share your success story with one other person so they get motivated to change too.

Are you ready to pay attention to your needs? What initial step will you take toward your goal this month? How will that step help you start loving what you do? Leave a reply and have your say.

If you are in need of some support you can always download a free copy of my ABC guide via the Members Access page. Don’t forget to Like, Share and Comment on the post through social media so you start connecting to other goal-driven people too.

Finally, however you spend it, have a brilliant February.

Have You Tried These 3 Steps To Greater #Success When You Work On Your #Goals ?

Whatever Your Goal You Will Get Better Results Everyday – Original Image From Pexels.Com

You can take steps to start changing your life at any time, but plenty of people get going at the start of the New Year.

So, if you want to be a new man (or woman) this year here are 3 steps to take towards greater success as you pursue and attain your goals:

Agility

Start by sitting down with a piece of paper and a pen to work out what you will gain when you pay attention to your health, wealth or career goals.

Then become more agile in the way you move forward. Be clear in your mind and on paper what success looks like. Are you feeling successful when you reach your first milestone? If your first step has not worked out change approach. Be agile. Take another step in a different direction.

Bravery

Most people are not pursuing big goals. Most people are getting by. Having a bigger goal and working on it everyday means stepping out of the mainstream.

That’s a brave thing to do.

Doing something differently will create a boundary between the people who like the old you and those who want to see the new you emerge. How will you manage your feelings when you meet people who just don’t get what you are doing, or why you are doing it? Who will you get support from as you change?

Is there a local network of well motivated and goal-oriented people you can tap into? How would you feel about creating one if necessary?

Collaboration

You will now have access to a group of buddies you can share your successes with, as they are also doing their personal development work and they get what you are going through.

You care about their progress just as much as they care about yours. Be your charming, collaborative self and be prepared to help others with their achievements. Those connections will help you open doors in future.

Your Next Step

What is your next big goal? What will you gain once you start working on it? How could an ABC approach help you get results?

Why not use the Comment section to share your motivation for taking action to help yourself. If you want to look at a few ‘How To’ ideas as you plan your next steps you can download a free ABC guide via this link https://experienceyourlife.me/members-access/   If you want to discuss your support needs you can schedule a conversation there too.

Keep an eye out for the next post, which will help you get more success from your goals this year.

Goals 2014: How’s Your Job Treating You?

If your workplace, or career, goal is linked to the health of the economy then there is good news today from the Office for National Statistics. The UK economy grew by 1.9% in 2013, its strongest rate since 2007.

That should make promotion, professional development, or job change easier, provided you are in the right part of the UK.

Actually, according to the Centre for Cities’ research published yesterday, London continues to be critical to the UK economy. That city is creating almost 10 times more private sector jobs than the second fastest growing city, Edinburgh.

Some of these factors feature in a recent job change query in the Guardian. Follow the link in my tweet to learn more.

Two final questions for you:

  • What sort of progress are you making on your work or career goals?
  • How much more progress could you make with coaching support?

Lighting Up The Future

A match flame

It almost goes without saying, that work plays a huge part in most people’s lives – and according to the latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) figure there are 29.87 million people in work in the UK.

However the days are long gone in which employees started work with an organisation in their 20s and stayed there until retirement four decades later.

Even a thorough PEST analysis of the political, economic, social and technological climate now could not identify the sort of jobs that will be the backbone of the economy in 2053 .

If only there was some way of being able to light up the period 40 years ahead, and know what make a future career meaningful and exciting.

I would argue (based on the people I have coached) that self-knowledge can help light up that darkness.  If you are supported in developing an understanding of: the qualities you value; the skills you offer; and the work you find stimulating you are closer to where the next few steps in your career might take you.   Having some light shed on the future makes it seem less uncertain.

The Guardian’s Work Blog sets out the quandary quite neatly.  The discussion below the line is useful too.  My comments are shown under the name RogerAD.
